This small strip o
f land in Washington State where the Columbia River
meets the Pacific Ocean has something for everyone: hiking, biking,
kayaking, horseback-riding on the beach, golfing, art galleries,
clamming, fishing, and more. For families with children, there
are go-carts, a carousel and other amusement park rides, mopeds
for rent, and a game arcade in the town of Long Beach. The historic
town of Oysterville sits on the northern tip and the fishing
port of Ilwaco sits on the southern tip. In between are miles
of sand dunes and ocean and bay beaches. Visit the still functioning
light houses, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Fort Colombia
- the old World War II military fort, and the many natural parks
including Fort Canby State Park and Leadbetter State Park. Go

The Beach House has a wonderful view
of the dunes and the ocean, and on a sunny day you can watch
the small boats and the big ships, the kites, and the sandpipers.
A three to five minute walk through the dunes takes you to the

and photos. The oceanside house sleeps six, has a fully equipped
kitchen including spices and basic condiments, a stocked linen
closet, and games and books. The beds feature cozy quilts. Other
amenities include: a fireplace, microwave, dishwasher, television
and VCR, and an ocean-facing deck.
Rates are $120.00 per night in the off season
and $150.00 during the peak summer season. There is a minimum
stay of two nights during the peak season. Rental is available
on a weekly basis as well with the seventh night free. This is
